Hey there,
Thanks for letting me in here! I did lurk the on old forum while hunting for VQ info! I am building an VQ30DET powered R32 Skyline, and I thought I'd share the build journey!
Progress has been very slow (only got a place with a garage a year or so ago and free time isn't my friend unfortunately) and I still a long long way to go!
Anyway, here is the journey so far!
It all started with a long hunt to find a straight/clean R32! Finally after months of hunting found one that had been garaged for a few years; an unmolested 1990 GTS in great condition inside and out!

First up needed some new wheels, being a cheap arse bought a set of Rota 9.5's +15 all round until I could afford something better.

As the new wheels were 5 stud, the crappy old breaks etc. had to go. 5 stud conversion done using R33 25DET gear.

It seemed to be my lucky day, came across factory m-spec sides and rears, which are rather hard to find these days.

Right, now came the important part! The RB20DE auto was just not going to cut it. A VQ30DET popped up and I thought what the hell, how bad can it go!

Picked up 350z 6-speed to go with the VQ.

One last shot before the carnage started!

Begin the carnage

Out comes the dirty old RB

Off comes the VQ auto gear

New running gear!
-Maxima flywheel
-SR20 Racing Cluth

Plenty more to come, although I'm in no hurry to finish it and ill no doubt have some questions for you guys when I get stuck
