Its pretty close, I don't think id get away with going lower really...
If you really wanted the bonnet to clear you could try spacing the subframe down maybe, but I didn't want to do that as it will change some of the front suspention geometry.

This isn't a great picture (I was actualy taking a pic of where I had an oil leak recently) but kinda shows the sump to crossmember, also the swaybar to sump! lol

What you cant see in that pic is that it is a lot closer on the other side of the subframe with the steering rack etc.
Also as you can see it low enough to make the lower pan vulnerable to hits

Its a fair amount of motor to clear, it would need a fair bit of spacing...

Damn I was really hoping that wasn't the case. I've thought about lowering the subframe but on a car that's already low it would make the geometry even worse and also the ground clearance. The sump is pretty close, but I think we're pretty lucky how nicely it actually fits in, I just had to cut off that little tab at the front for the wiring and it fits in there pretty nicely.

I don't even think a custom inlet manifold will save me the throttle looks so damn high. Thanks for the pics

When i got mine, the engine was pretty close to the crossmember and it sump level looked similar to Gun180.
Mine was a y34 and didn't have the idle controller.
I had a guy shave the top and make a plate for a XF? older falcon TB.
With this setup the bonnet would close.

insert really bad picture from many years ago

Ive pushed the engine further back, so this no longer fits.
i was going to use the y33 intake reversed and save up to get a nice intake like the ones Nisfab on these forums make.

I've added some more to the GUN180 story on page 1, I've edited an extra post I slipped in just to explain some of the initial bugs I had to sort out, I've also made this post just so I can edit it later with phase 2 of the build!

Stay tuned 8-)

HI there, I was wondering if you have some spare parts lying around? I was looking for a aircon bracket and tensioner and I am not sure if you use them for drifting :D . Everything has come to a stop as I need to see if the aircon setup will clear the engine mount that I am making. Cheers
